Review: Book tells the storey of Stompysaurus having a bad day, whereby things go wrong. He doesn't want his breakfast but doesn't know why. His brother pokes his tongue out at him. He trips up. His friends don't want to play. But in the end, all is well and he learns how to deal with things better and to say sorry. We all have Stompysaurus days.

Review: I read this to my 4 yo and at first she was a little underwhelmed but as it went on I think she was able to relate to Stompy and his little brother (she has an older sister and a little brother) as the day pans out and things don't go quite as expected and how those feelings can be managed and alleviated in a gentle way to turn things around. The story is rhyming so has a gentle rhythm to it, along with the colourful but cute illustrations, it's easy enough for little ones to engage with both the images and the words being read to them. It then also opens up questions on what was going on and why and how those things can be related to. She gave it 4 stars on reflection but at this age they usually want to read books a few times. As far as books we're read which have an underlying message, this is one of the better ones.
