Review: I’ll admit, this one threw me for several reasons. The obvious and best part of 12 is that Takane, after reliving that initial marriage meeting in his head, finally comes to terms with his feelings. And when he wakes, he confesses. And everybody hears it. Hana is naturally overwhelmed. And so is everyone else. Here is the confusion: her response to him. After wanting his answer, and tired of being turned away, she runs. Also, her father has been all happy go lucky about the arrangement until the kidnapping, and yet a confession of love seems to wake him up and dig in his heels. And so on. A lot of things don’t make sense. Hana’s actions are inconsistent, but maybe she’s not handling it well. Takane, however, is exceptionally cute as he (as usual) overdoes everything. He’s even more adorable now that he’s in touch with his feelings and knows himself better. And poor Okemon....I feel For the boy.

Review: Takane had some serious character development going on in vol 12 and I loved it. What I didn’t love was Hana and her sudden switch up. It doesn’t make sense at all and the reason she gives just doesn’t really add up. I get the kidnapping but that seems to be a separate issue. She goes from fighting to win him over to look at all the complications of us being together. I get that she’s 16 but I’m kinda over the childishness of her. Not really here for how Okamon is being used either. The fake boyfriend suggestion was too cliche. Overall, I feel short changed on this volume. Like other than the first couple of pages not enough happened to keep me interested. And the supposed plot twist were just blah. I hope the next one is as good as the first 11 vols. Ugh I feel like all this anticipation was for nothing ????. 4/5 because I loved the story up until now.
