Review: Excellent book, no nonsense, to the point and complete. It works both for general reading and as a reference guide for labour. If you want to prepare for labour, this is the only book you'll need. (Mind you, it does not deal with all of pregnancy, but rather focuses on labour (pre-, during, post-).

Review: Not everything is applicable for UK births so cannot rate it higher than 3 stars. It is very detailed and you do learn a lot, both my husband and I read it and found bits of it useful. Other parts were written in a slightly annoying manner. I found The Good Birth Companion by N. Croft a lot more relevant to UK and a lot easier to read than this book.
