Review: I have read many books on Witchcraft. And no matter what i read there was always something wrong with them. Things that downright put me off the subject and practice. Dont get me wrong, the books i read had their upsides. But they just didnt make me want to continue my path into the practice. I could list the reasons or give titles, but i dont want to bash other books. What will work for one person wont for another. This book caught my interest. After i had begun reading it. Before i had stayed away from it because of its cover (yes i judged a book by its cover. I feel shame) Its title and front always seemed a little over the top. But i got to a point where i really did not know where to search next, for a book that i may like. And this one sort of nudged at the edge of my mind. So i went to my local New Age/Pagan store and bought the "Outer Temple of Witchcraft". Yes you read right. Outer Temple. I had got the wrong book. Which leads me to one warning on these books. The titles are not very clear on which one is the first in the series. even the blurb did not mention it. Make sure you get the right one. I ordered this book and read its first few chapters and including the introduction etc... And i was already enjoying myself. There is something about the authors writing style that is easy going, and never makes you feel like you are being ordered around. Unlike other books i had read. That, and the fact that for once, the intitiation ritual was not near the front of the book. This made you feel at ease. Because it did not feel like you are being pushed into everything NOW. There was a small thing at the front which was a sort of rituaal for you to declare your intent. But it was not really binding. It was more to get you into the habit of following the lesson type structure in which the book is written. Which brings me to my second point: The book is written in a lesson format. You have a lesson, and then an exercise. But it was unlike other books in which the same sort of format was used. It felt more relaxed. More like you were being eased into each practice. In other words, you were never thrown into the deep end. This sort of feeling is present throughout the book. And finally... The author writes about Witchcraft in a way that allows you to come to a few of your own conclusions on matters. It allows you a fair bit of freedom when shaping your practice. It also does not seem biased towards and traditions. which once again gives you a bit of freedom. I reccomend this book. And am ashamed i judged it by its cover.

Review: I am very happy with the book. I’m new to the world of witchcraft. I’ve been reading lots of different books, blogs listening to podcasts and watching videos over the past few months but so far nothing is as good as this book. I’ve gotten a lot of info from the other sources about the colors, days, how to do spells, etc. I reached the point where I felt I had enough info to start practicing it in my daily life but it felt unfulfilling. Reading this book (not finished yet) has opened my eyes to how practicing works. As a beginner that has done a lot of research on the ‘for beginners’ area this book is essential. It explains how things work in detail. I’m finding it refreshing. However no CDs.
