Description: A brilliantly funny book about a monster attached to his dummy, from the bestselling author-illustrator of Five Minutes' Peace and Peace at Last. With wit, humour and a keen feel for the dynamics of family life, the creator of Five Minutes' Peace and A Quiet Night In captures a familiar dilemma in this multiple award-winning book - the dilemma of how to help a little one let go of their dummy! Marlon's granny thinks that he's much too old for a dummy. It's a noo-noo, Marlon informs her. And he has no intention of giving it up. Not even when his mum throws it in the bin. Not even when the other monsters call him a big baby. Nothing and no one can make Marlon give up his noo-noo until Marlon decides that the time is right. Review: This is such a beautifully written book and gorgeous illustrations. It’s an old favourite and have purchased it to have for my grandchildren. It might not be 100% politically correct as has been mentioned in other reviews, but perhaps that also lends to what life will no doubt offer! My children and I have delighted in this book and I really do recommend it.

Review: The language used in this book is not what I’d use to teach my children, or even want to read to them. Bought this book thinking it would help support transitioning to no dummies, first read was the last read. Never would I insinuate a child is an “idiot” for having a comfort /dummy, a book that has characters as bullies? Come on, seriously not cool.. Definite NO NO on this book, much better books out there for both general reading with children and support with stopping the dummy!
