Review: The last book in the series and I'm not sure how I'm going to go on! Queen of Zombie Hearts was a beautiful ending to the series and I seriously don't know where to start. Ali and the slayers are at war with Anima, and when I say at war, I really mean at war. This isn't a little skirmish where people want something but if they don't get it, hey whatever. No, this is high-tension and heartbreaking moments where these people are fighting for their lives, their friends, and everything they know. Ali has always been a strong character but she just keeps on growing. It's clear that she's matured even more since the last book and has fully become the person she is meant to be. Ali is a hell of a fighter and kicks ass with the best of them but she is also so full of love and cares for her friends so, so much. So far this review sucks because I honestly don't know how to explain how I feel. I admire Ali so much, for her choices, her personality, everything, and she is one of my favourite heroines of all time. Gena Showalter did an amazing job with this book and I am kind of in awe. The characters, the plot, the action, the romance – it was all written seamlessly in a way that just makes me love these books so damn much. The romance (you know I have to mention the romance) was better in this book than in the others. Before reading this did I think Cole could get any sexier and that I could love him any more? No way. Was I wrong – hell yeah. Ali and Cole's relationship is both perfect and imperfect, and I love how far both of them have come, how strong their bond is. Yes they have moments when life is crappy and they don't know if they'll make it, but at the end of the day both of them love the other and nothing, absolutely nothing, can keep them apart. Having just written about how beautiful their relationship is, let me just say: SWOONS. So, so, so sexy. I think I need a fan. I know I've only talked about Ali and Cole so far but the others need a mention too. Gavin, Lucas, Bronxe, Frosty, Kat, Reeve, and even some new ones, I love these slayers. They are 100% badass and I adore all of them. Seriously, even without all the kickassery, these people are freaking hilarious! I'm talking humour and sarcasm to rival Kate Daniels and Jace Wayland (and if you don't know who they are, what the heck have you been doing?!). The action was of course superb :) . A lot of the times there was so much going on – zombies, slayers, hazmats – but Gena Showalter manages to give it all to you at once without overloading, yet still keeping you on edge, wondering if everyone will make it out. Man, she is really good at that. I didn't know who was going to survive, and I hate to say this, but not everyone survives. I know, it's horrible. There were characters I would have given anything to have them survive but that simply wasn't in the cards and I may hate the author a tiny bit for this one special person who dies (not saying who). Why?!?! Okay, I'm in control again. I'm going to slip one tiny criticism in here because it came to mind and I have to be fair, but it doesn't mean I wouldn't marry this book if I could. So here it is: there were a few times when I felt like some of the dialogue was slightly overdramatic even if the situation kind of warranted it, but it didn't really affect the book at all. Yep, that's it ;) . Now I've got to end the review there because there isn't anything else I can say which will make any sense. The Queen of Zombie Hearts was a spectacular and heartbreaking end to the series and it really is a must-read! As in, get off your but and buy yourself a copy! YA 4.5 stars

Review: Dont get me wrong Gena Showalters one of my favourite authors BUT the only reason I started this series was because I was waiting for another book in a different series. The previous 2 books were good, if I was to tell someone about them id label them "alright if your bored" but this one. I just didn't like it. One thing...if there was a group of zombie slayers in almost the same location why not team up? Theres all of a sudden lots of new names. Yet people die who we've read about in the first 2 books, I couldn't remember them and had to think back. I don't understand bringing in new people when you haven't gone into the people you've already got, they were just...there. The back and forth between ali and cole. Yet again they broke up-sort of. Had to read a lot of her moaning and whining. I personally didn't like alis character. The final straw for me was the death of Kat! To be honest she was the only reason I enjoyed these books for her humour and random things she came out with just for her to die?! I would of preferred one of the new people who we hadn't grown attached to, to get offed. Fair enough she didn't turn into a zombie after biting ali with the new magical cure, shes now a witness but what about Frosty? You see them so much throughout all 3 books and really fall for them. If your going to kill off the best character atleast let us know her other half is okay not just ending the story happily ever after 2-3 pages later. I wouldn't recommend this series the only reason I stuck was for Kat
