Review: So I have a Bat Story. Around 4.30am I woke up. The thought that came to mind was that I would read The Space Within again and it seemed to make a lot of sense. I had to come downstairs to fetch the book and by the time I got back into bed something was flying around in the room. It was a bat. With a sense of calm (unknown to me before where animals are concerned) I opened the window as wide as I could, turned on the light and stood by the door. The bat went round and round, sweeping one way, then another, sometimes almost touching my face, other times almost flying out of the window, just round and round. I shut the door and came back downstairs to look up on the computer 'how to get a bat out of your bedroom'. It surprised me just how common a situation it can be. I had done the right things so far - open window, light on. It went on to say wear thick gloves as they can bite really hard, get a box, wait until it has come to a resting place, if you get the timing just so you can get it into the box without getting bitten, carefully get it lidded and then take it outside and release it onto a tree as it may struggle from the ground….. if this is unsuccessful call in the experts! So I went back upstairs, opened the door and stood just inside. The bat was still going crazy. The Space Within and my reading glasses were tantalisingly on the other side of the room and I had no desire to reach over to them! I closed the door and hopped into the bed in the room next door and went back to sleep. This morning I find that the bat has gone. At some point it flew out of the window. And the point of relating this to you? I see the Bat as personal thoughts going round and round, switching directions yet spinning in the same loop over and over. The Window as the 3P's. Sometimes the Bat almost took the Window, it was so close to freedom yet was still caught in the loop. By facilitating the opportunity for the Bat to find freedom in the Window and then going off to sleep in another room I was keeping myself out of the chaos and hence the Bat was set free and it did it by itself when the moment was right. For a long while, Sydney Banks words 'the Truth is all around you' totally baffled me. Today they make perfect sense! Thank you so much for writing such a brilliant book, I know that it is going to make a world of difference to whoever is fortunate enough to read it and that includes me. Next time we are in the same room, I will definitely come over to say hello, regardless of how many people you already know are there…. I will be the unknown and I hear that is good Emoji.
