Review: Well, I’ve just had to lie down after devouring Stolen Sisters from Louise Jensen. Having read all of her other books, I know what a dark and twisted mind this author has but I honestly think Stolen Sisters has just kicked that ball right out of the park! Oh My Lord! I wish I had worn a fit bit reading this as I’d have loved to known what my heart rate was reading during this! Talk about a page turner, a can’t put it down-er, a just one more chapter-er…this one was all of them and beyond! Louise Jensen has more than proved herself to be an outstanding storyteller and in The Stolen Sisters she firmly fixes the storytelling crown on for good I think! It has everything; the hook to pull you in; a cast of characters who consume your life from the minute you meet them; the emotional fiddle she has you playing as you invest your life in their lives and their story; the tension as each page ramps it up a notch, God, I’m even getting an increased heart rate writing this review as I remember the story and the twists, after twists after twists and God those twists are bloody good! Cleverly crafted and the plotting is sublime; each character tells their story from the past and the present, and the story is slowly revealed, the trauma disclosed and the truth uncovered. The destruction of lives, the lasting impact of adverse childhood experiences is deftly laid out and it is impossible to read this book and not be completely immersed in the story! An absorbing, twisted, dark and emotional rollercoaster that will appeal to fans of psychological thrillers. I could go on for hours about how much I LOVED this book but I want you all to go out and experience it for yourselves. Probably my FAVOURITE book from Louise Jensen yet! It gave me ALL the feels!

Review: An intriguing story, if a little grim. Did it have to be quite so unpleasant? The disjointed storyline was confusing particularly near the end with single paragraph chapters and frequent changes of viewpoint. I’m afraid I didn’t believe the sisters would have been quite so affected by what happened. All that guilt! Wouldn’t they have had counselling to help them get over it? And no way would the press and TV still be interested twenty years later. A bit disappointing compared to the hype.
