Review: I just love janes books. She has this way of making her characters so instantly likeable and relatable, and I still think it’s hard to make a book actually make you belly-laugh out loud but this is just the best book ever, I just truly didn’t want it to end. The whole storyline and all the characters even to the hilarious (without even trying) Italian hotel guy with his very bad, but highly amusing attempts at English dialect! I was turning the pages so fast towards the end because it kept getting better and better....yet I just didn’t want to get to the end, in fact I actually punched the bed when I turned the page and it said “epilogue” because I wanted to keep following the characters and how their lives were about to change for the better hopefully. Jane....please consider a sequel, it would be fantastic to follow their stories. Anyone who loves rom coms, believe me this is the absolute perfect number one book for you all.

Review: This was a bit of a slow burner and didn't really get going until the middle of the book, then it picked up big time and I was really enjoying it at the end. There were some "laugh out loud" bits, but not as many as I was expecting from the book description and previous experience of Jane Costello books.

Description: Jane Austen and Dorothy Wordsworth were born just four years apart, in the 1770s, in a world torn between heady revolutionary ideas and fierce conservatism, and both were influenced by the Romantic ideals of Dorothy's brother, William Wordsworth, and his friends. Jane and Dorothy compares their upbringing and education, home lives and loves and, above all, their emotional and creative worlds. Original insights include a new discovery of serious depression suffered by Dorothy Wordsworth, a new and crucial discovery about Dorothy and William's relationship, and a critical look at the myths surrounding the man who stole Jane's heart. This is the first time these two lives have been examined together. .

  • Waterstones How We Might Live

    Price: £14.99

    Brand: Waterstones

Description: William Morris - poet, designer, campaigner, hero of the Arts & Crafts movement - was a giant of the Victorian age, and his beautiful creations and provocative philosophies are still with us today: but his wife Jane is too often relegated to a footnote, an artist's model given no history or personality of her own. In truth, Jane and William's personal and creative partnership was the central collaboration of both their lives. The homes they made together - the Red House, Kelmscott Manor and their houses in London - were works of art in themselves, and the great labour of their lives was life itself: through their houses and the objects they filled them with, they explored how we all might live a life more focused on beauty and fulfilment. In How We Might Live, Suzanne Fagence Cooper explores the lives and legacies of Jane and William Morris, finally giving Jane's work the attention it deserves and taking us inside two lives of unparalleled creative artistry.

  • Waterstones Jane Austen's Men

    Price: £22.99

    Brand: Waterstones

Description: The society in which Jane Austen lived and set her novels was a patriarchal one. Men ran the country nationally and locally, and had professional or business careers. Women were relegated to the subservient roles of wife, mother and housekeeper. What was it like to be a man in late Georgian and Regency England? How did Jane Austen, who lived in a predominantly male household, portray her male characters? How much inspiration did she draw from real men? This book explores the lives of the men in Jane's life, her relationship with them, how typical they were of men of their time and the impact they had on her life and writing. It also shows, through an in-depth look at the male characters in the novels, how men and women related to each other in society and how men maintained their dominant position.
