Review: I was enthralled by this book from start to finish. I enjoyed the way it was written over different time lines, going back and forth over Ada' s life. I experienced laughter, sadness, despair, frustration, happiness, anxiety and relief, the emotions that Ada must have felt throughout her life. It demonstrated the utter hellishness of dementia, a disease that always takes. I miss Ada and David already and wish I could enter the unseen world if nothing else to give them both a big hug and say thanks.

Review: Very absorbing read and I enjoyed it very much. I carried it everywhere with me so that I could sneak a read whenever I could! I have only given it four as I felt the pace slowed towards the end and I felt it could have been a bit slicker. Other than that, highly recommended.

  • Waterstones New York Unseen

    Price: £19.95

    Brand: Waterstones

Description: Like the first part of the Unseen series (London Unseen), New York Unseen is an authentic approach to the character of a world metropolis. It is the first illustrated book that attempts to capture the soul of the Big Apple without focusing on tourist highlights such as the Statue of Liberty and Central Park. Instead, Luc Kordas focuses on intimate encounters with the protagonists of the East Coast metropolis: its residents. Embedded in their natural habitat, the mostly black-and-white images of people from the city's streets, backyards, apartments, or trains often tell much more than the 1,000th image of the Empire State Building could. The result is a photographic smorgasbord of looks, gestures, situations that capture the soul of New York. The city is thus seen from its edges, and at the same time from its innermost - an unprecedented view of what is probably the most photographed city in the world.

Description: You may never read the Bible the same way again. Angelic beings taking human wives. Ancient giants. God holding royal court among other gods. In Supernatural, Dr. Michael S. Heiser tackles these remarkable biblical themes and many more, based on his fifteen years of research into what the Bible really says about the unseen realm. Heiser shines a bright light on the supernatural world--not a new light, but rather the same light in which the original, ancient readers and writers of Scripture would have seen it. • Waterstones Berlin Unseen

    Price: £19.95

    Brand: Waterstones

Description: In the book. we get a fantastic look at those alternative viewpoints that you're unlikely to find in your Lonely Planet or Rough guide. They've called the books 'Unseen' for a reason, because you're far less likely to have already viewed the kinds of pictures taken within it. | ?? Amateur Photographer Berlin Unseen is, like the first two parts of the Unseen series (London Unseen and New York Unseen), an authentic approach to the character of the German capital. At the same time, the images by Martin U. Waltz breathe the atmosphere of the metropolis on the Spree as authentically as few others. The star photographer of the German street photography scene has always been close to the pulse of the city; knows where Berlin life meets; in which places and squares the soul of the city is best reflected. Yet it is not the city's tourist highlights that interest Martin U. Waltz. It is the streets and the faces of the real Berlin, the hidden architecture, the backyards, party basements and subcultures of the city. His images smell and taste of Berlin, and not (only) of the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag and TV Tower. Berlin Unseen thus becomes a photographic smorgasbord of glances, gestures, situations that capture the soul of Berlin. The city is seen from its edges, and at the same time from its innermost - an unprecedented view of probably the most moving metropolis in the world. Text in English and German.

  • Waterstones The The Unseen Lusitania

    Price: £25.00

    Brand: Waterstones

Description: Lost to a German torpedo on 7 May 1915, Cunard's RMS Lusitania captured the world's imagination when she entered service in 1907. Not only was she the largest ship in the world, but she was also revolutionary in design as well as being a record breaker. Lusitania is now sadly remembered for her tragic destruction, sinking in eighteen minutes with the loss of around 1,200 souls. In this sumptuously illustrated book, historian Eric Sauder brings RMS Lusitania to life once again. Filled with vivid, unseen photographs and illustrations from Eric's extensive private collection, this absorbing read will transport the reader back over 100 years to a time when opulent Ships of State were the only way to cross the Atlantic.
