Review: Written by Herge when he was young and starting out as a cartoonist for a magazine. It's an interesting book to have in your collection from a historic and character/artwork development perspective. It's quite a long story and isn't in colour and although there are some weak points in the script it's generally an exciting and enjoyable read. Snowy has a main part and it's funny to see his continual remarks and comments to Tintin throughout. Other regular characters are not a feature of the piece. The artwork fluctuates in quality especially the Soviet characters but even at this early stage Herge was great at drawing cars, trains and planes and really captures the movement and speed of these vehicles, it's a sign of some of the types of things we see in the other books. It's an enjoyable read and I'd recommend it, it's not just for enthusiasts and collectors.

Review: Very disappointed that the graphics are black and white - not in colour!
