Review: This an excellent work which covers all the necessary basics on vertical gardening even though it is biased toward American readers .However , for those in British climates , it is still a very usable book and simple to understand . I would recommend it to all interested in the art of vertical gardening .

Review: Firstly - if you're international be warned this is an American book with plenty of American vegetable names and growing zone info. Fell seems to spend the better part of the first two chapters overselling her vertical gardening technique when we have already bought his book. Its very repetitive, and often in not useful ways. This book may be more suited to a brand new gardener however to anyone with any experience it feels like old news. The idea of growing these vegetables vertically is old news. He talks about sugar snap peas, mangetout, tomatoes and cucumbers as if they have never been grown vertically before. (They have, for decades, if not centuries.) They do produce higher yields but if you've grown veg vertically you're used to this.. It was far too wordy and doesn't compare well to many other gardening books available now-a-days which have plenty of clear, beautiful photos - this book cannot compare. If he had focussed more on vegetables with clearer, larger and insitu photos (a phrase he overuses!) I would have enjoyed this book far more. I'm not a flower gardener but even this information was a little old hash. Disappointed but if you're never heard of growing cordon style tomatoes or if you don't know peas can be grown upwards then buy this book, you might enjoy..
