Review: Dad loved this book, even though he ended up in A&E from slicing open his hand needing stitches. Through No fault of the book of course.. on the plus side he coloued in the mushroom carving with blood which gave the end result a rather realistic tone of brown red.

Review: Ultimately this book does what it says it does, but I was disappointed in the lack of actual projects. Mostly this teaches you how to make things like spoons, a butter knife, and at its most interesting point, an owl. Not really for those interested in particularly interesting looking results. Overall lacking in content but perhaps it's on me for expecting too many varied projects. The author seems to know his stuff regardless and has a friendly tone throughout, but for the price and heft of this book, it seems to be very shallow.
