Review: I can’t really stand the school and result-ratrace that young children are exposed to these days. In all honesty, as a kid I was too easily distracted and I only started to show some serious interest in education when I was 19 years old and got a very long way after that, when many, more serious students started to derail after years of discipline and self-constraint. Anyway, this is a good book to help young children practice maths and not only teach them the basic theory but also to test the knowledge in practice with actual questions and problems. My son was hard pushed at first to work from this, much dreaded book. But with patience and some help he has stared to make good progress. And I must admit that through the book I’ve now started to understand where my son’s maths issues lie and what the curriculum is requiring these days. As a result I could help him with those areas and he is now more happy and confident in class, and even claims to be one of the top-maths students.
