Review: This is a lovely way of bringing this childhood staple read to youngsters. It is written in the style of Enid Blyton where the Famous Five have a mystery to solve and face mild peril. Reading it certainly brought back a wealth of childhood memories. The illustrations are bright and vivid and I like the modern look of the characters. Indeed, at the very beginning are the character illustrations to help young readers to identify them. The story is divided into seven chapters which are not too long. The font is large with some text made bigger and bolder too. Vocabulary is not too complex, so would be suitable for an independent reader of six years. Alternatively, this makes a great bedtime story for younger, emerging readers. This is a lovely story and so well illustrated, that it adds an extra colour to the original series. If you still have your childhood collection at home, this book is a great way to introduce the next generation to this much-loved series, before embarking on the original stories.

Review: Have been out of the children’s book arena for some time and just making a come back now. I did not realise osr if I knew I had forgotten that the Famous Five did short stories, This is the ideal wayy to introduce a child to the hours of happiness gained from the famous five books. Although paper back the first and last pages are a really thick cardboard protecting the books well.Illustrations are inviting and brightly colouredThe font is child friendly and the use of black capitols for emphasis is good. My oldest great grand child is 9 years anne she was ready to devour this book only coming for tea when book was taken I love to see children loving boos like that. Message in a bottle certainly grabbed her imagination
