Review: I am 12 but first read this book when I was 9. It is now part of a series consisting of 4 books and I wish there would be more. The books are about 10 year old Pippa who is an only child with a big imagination. This book sees Pippa trying to make new friends after her best friend moves to Scotland. Pippa tries to impress Catie who is the most popular girl in school by telling her that she auditioned for the voice factor ( a combination of the voice and the X factor). Catie signs Pippa up for the auditions for the talent show but there's one problem, Pippa can't sing and was once mistaken for mauling cats by her Dads neighbor! My favourite part of this book is when Pippa goes for a sleepover at the twins house and pretends to be locked in the toilet to avoid singing on the karaoke. Then the twins Dad tries to rescue her which is really funny. I also like the list of funny names which my brother and I have continued and have done 107 names in total! I would recommend this book to girls who like Clarice Bean, Darcy Burdock and Petunia Perry and the curse of the ugly pigeon with an age rage of 9-13. A must read.
